I watched a sow black bear with two cubs in Grand Teton National Park for about two hours. They were fairly hidden by the brush and barely stopped eating the entire time. I was able to get just a few clear shots of one of the cubs as it lifted its head and looked right in my direction. I was parked alongside the road and a safe distance away so that I wouldn't disturb the bears in any way.
