Title: Moraine Blues
Location: Moraine Lake
Edition: 1/1
Arriving at Moraine Lake in the early AM we set up our tripods and waited for the first light. It was a cold and rainy night with very high winds. It wasn’t until blue hour that the wind calmed down and a subtle reflection could be seen over the lake. Through a thirty second long exposure, I was able to captured the reflection quite well.
Blue hour is a special time for landscape photographers. At this particular lake, the sun usually comes up in front of the mountains. This makes it the perfect spot for blue hour and sunrise. Focusing on a cold hue for the overall image I wanted to create a dark and moody scene. As the overall photo had a similar color scheme, I used contrast to bring focus to key details of the image. I brought up the highlights in the mountains and it’s reflection making them the subjects of this piece.
A dream within a dream. Photography to me is a medium to convey my emotions and imagination.
A collection showcasing the past 5 years of my photography journey, from when I first started to where I am now. Each image has gone through hours upon hours of refinement and polishing. Some even took years of continuous adjustments. As they get added onto the collection, I will finally label them as finished.
Photography is the journey and story behind the photo. Editing is the personality and inspiration behind the artist. Each photo created represents a moment in life that houses my memories and emotions.
