When I was a teenager I used to paint a lot. My paintings were mostly surreal self-portraits and it was the way to deal with my emotions. There's a special feeling when you dive in deep and forget about everything. I remember one night when I was sitting in front of the mirror and painting myself. A friend of mine - also an artist - came over and was helping me to mix the colors. One moment I was so into my action that I started feeling like my body had disappeared and I became a brush. I heard my friend's voice but I wasn't there anymore.
Landscapes and Atmospheres is a collection of images that grew out of the series I started in 2021. It's exploring human's memory. Inner landscapes is a metaphor of my memories. A print of random moments that I remember and consider as my life, my biography, my personality. I'm not even sure if they are real, but each and every day I woke up believing in what I remember about myself. Each image is a fragment. They are not connected to each other. Just like the real memories that resemble glimpses in the void. Colors, shapes, objects and body movement help me to tell the story, but I leave a lot of room for one's imagination.
I create set design, costumes and mostly all the details to recreate my fantasies. When the series it's finished I'm going to bring everything to the physical space with installations and performances.
