When I look around, I'm convinced that the world is all about colours and shapes. Inspired by Piet Mondrian’s Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow, I created this composition by combining primary colours and lines with the human silhoutte presenting itself as the "Stain".

"Stain" by Emre Cakmak collection image

I imagine humans as a “Stain” on the canvas of life full of thousands of colours. Tar drips from our trotters; ink smudges have covered our hands. We are abnormal sihouettes among the geometry around us, almost like a divine mistake in the middle of this bright merriment; here, there, everywhere.

"Stain" consists of 5 photos, two of which are self portraits, glued together by form and emotion. Light, colour and geometry are the main elements in all compositions with the human silhouette being the stain. Taken between 2019 & 2020, it is a contemporary take on Street Photography and my subjective and emotional interpretation of the streets and this world.
