Synthetic Magnolias 8 (2/23/2021, R code). This piece is part of twenty selected generative artworks released as unique iterations (numbered 1-10), in a limited collection by Kenny Vaden: “A Human in Times of Chaos.” A deceptively simple pile of scattered petals. Five slightly and randomly rotated concentric circles were drawn, breaking up coordinates into 26 segments that bridged inner and outer pairs of rings. Each of these rectangular polygons were reshaped by increasing the number of points from 4 to 40, smoothing and shrinking then filling with a transparent white. Each tile outline was shrunk six times to create inlaid lines or randomly varied width. These shapes were also moved outward from the center randomly, with smaller nudges as the shapes were drawn for the outermost circle to the innermost circle. The image dimensions for this file are 20x20 inches and 300 DPI, which produced a file size below the 40 MB limit but provides a higher resolution (more detail) than the original version shown online.
