Symmetry 8 (12/25/2020, R code). This piece is part of twenty selected generative artworks released as unique iterations (numbered 1-10), in a limited collection by Kenny Vaden: “A Human in Times of Chaos.” This code was an exploration of symmetrical flow fields. A smoothed, high resolution hemi-directional flow field was first produced, whicht was half as wide as it was tall. Random seed coordinates (n = 2000) were created then each was used to look up a direction based on the flow field matrix, with even step sizes for every time point (t = 500). Each line was reflected across the midline, with successively thinner lines and lighter gradient colors. These produced biological and muscular looking etched patterns. The image dimensions for this file are 20x20 inches and 300 DPI, which produced a file size below the 40 MB limit but provides a higher resolution (more detail) than the original version shown online.
