Night Surf 5 (5/28/2021, R code). This piece is part of twenty selected generative artworks released as unique iterations (numbered 1-10), in a limited collection by Kenny Vaden: “A Human in Times of Chaos.” This code plotted 250 sine wave-based polygons, from right to left, each with 10 weighted average lines drawn their centers. Colors were selected based on randomly jittered wave number, and wave widths, resizing, and vertical position were all randomly generated. The results reminded me of night sessions near Trestles, with burning sage in the wind and bioluminescent phytoplankton and moonlight in the waves and reflecting on the sand, deep below. The image dimensions for this file are 30x15 inches and 300 DPI, which produced a file size below the 40 MB limit but provides a higher resolution (more detail) than the original version shown online.
