The skies are alive with LIGHTNING! There is nothing more energetic and invigorating to me than witnessing mother nature shoot bolts across the sky! This is WHY I got into photography so many years ago (30+ to be exact!)! At the age of 6 I had been fascinated with storms and the power it holds. I was afraid of severe weather at a young age, but was determined from the age of 8 to get pictures of lightning! When I was 12, my "point and shoot" 35mm film camera from Zellers and a roll of 800 ISO film...I did it! The image wasn't anything special, but at 12 it was AMAZING and I had accomplished what I set out to do! After witnessing Canada's only F5 tornado in Manitoba in 2007, I bought my first DSLR camera and in 2009 I got my "FIRST" lightning image...the one I was after. This first shot is included in my first lightning collection, it is special to me and an important start of my career as a storm chaser. Lightning brings me so much energy, I hope you feel it too!
