Another awesome spot at one of my favourite locations to shoot seascapes in Auckland, Takapuna.
This was one of 4 different compositions I shot on this morning, but this more muted colour edit really resonated with me more than the others from this morning.
It has an atmosphere to it, a drama that if had I saturated it with yellows and oranges, it would lose it's feeling, its mood.
Water & Colour
This is a collection that was borne out of necessity and limitations, that's not to say time and effort haven't gone into them, on the contrary working the same 2 beaches for pretty much one year due to isolation and lockdowns was not only challenging but so very rewarding! It's easy to see these big beautiful vistas and grand landscapes from around the globe and think to yourself (whilst trapped), how do you compete with that... You don't, is the short answer, what you can do is improvise, be patient and really get to know your surroundings & fine tune your compositional eye.
Fortunately with the restriction's being lifted, I'm able to travel further and add more Colour and Water to this collection, enjoy!
