This small series of 13 NFTs was the third series in a row: my NFT journey really started with minting the "Black Series" on Foundation. This "Black Series" came with a heavy black frame which stems from a deeply depressive phase I was in (more about that topic of mental health below). When I felt better, I switched over to the "White Series" here on OpenSea - interestingly, I had no intention of switching series during the creation process itself, but when I wanted to add the heavy black frame, I suddenly stopped, and it felt wrong - because I was actually feeling better, which was good! So the frame got much lighter, and so the "White Series" was born. After the following vacation at the sea of Spain, "Water Worlds" were born, simply inspired by the mediterranean sea: sitting on the beach, looking at the water, listening to the wind. I took this home with me, and in the weeks after that, thirteen "Water Worlds" emerged. (please see below for technical details)

About "Monika's Art": my name indeed is Monika, and while I was born and raised on a farm in Germany, I had the chance to live and work abroad for 10 years in my first job. This led me to Austria, the UK, Dubai in the UAE, New Zealand, and -briefly- India. I am now back in Germany with my husband and our six tortoises. We both share a deep interest and appreciation for other cultures and languages, and we try to build bridges whereever we can. A lot of inspiration comes from other regions of the world with an accent on Asia and Scandinavia. I work as a doctor's assistant as a day job, and I have a little side business (just me) decorating cakes. You'll find my works on the web at www.tortenmaus.de and/or Instagram with the handle @tortenmaus.de for a look. While I always created art throughout my life, I seldom dared to show it really, so the blockchain is indeed the first time I am 'outing' myself here - which is a huge step for me. Driven by life-long struggles with my self-worth, depression and anxiety, creating always has been and still is a way of expressing what is going on inside and cannot be expressed by words yet. This sometimes leads to spontaneous, creative outbursts, often changing the flow from my original intention. In most of the cases, finding the words for the title in the end is the expression of what was previously unspoken. - I'm glad you are a part of this journey now. For this, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude.
