In the middle of October 2021, I quit my engineering job to pursue photography full time. It was scary to say the least, but something I had been dreaming of for months. At the end of the month, I had flights to go to French Polynesia for 10 days with no plan on where I would go or what I would do when I was there.

My first night I stayed in a hostel with hopes of meeting people. This is something I like to do when I travel alone because it forces me to meet new faces and have a flexible travel schedule. After a day in Tahiti, I ended up booking flights to travel to five of the Society Islands in French Polynesia.

Even before I stepped foot in French Polynesia, I knew I wanted to capture the beautiful scenery from above. I was blown away by the incredible reefs, endless turquoise water, and unique bungalows. I hitchhiked, hung out with the locals, toured the islands on a motorbike, and had the time of my life. It’s trips like these that are so fulfilling and impossible to forget.
