I first started doing photography in 2015, 2 years out of high school, because I loved movies and wanted to go to film school. Slowly I accepted though that taking a loan for $100,000 to put on a film degree didn’t make the most practical sense long term, for me anyway. The more I accepted that I wasn’t ever going to afford going to school the more I got into photography/video.
The day this photo was taken is uncertain but the year was 2016. Around the time I took this I had been really into ‘kinetic’ photography and so I had been trying to practice that style. Usually the best shots I would end up with were accidental, but the reason I love this image so much is that this one wasn’t.
Carnivals and arcades have a particular vibe that I just love, in this image I wanted to capture a piece of that.
