Tropical Paradise depicts a series of digital objects that use parody as an artistic strategy. Tropical Paradise represents the colonization process implied in the creation of tropicality, particularly in the tourism industry. Tourism creates non-existent towns, full of magical and exoticised creatures, and populated by happy and well-paid collaborators. None of those exist.

This project presents a view of tropicality as a system of organized representation that grooms tropical land and bodies for the consumption of first-world countries. By presenting broad and gross diagrams and collages of the workings within this representational system, this project aims to frame tropicality as an opportunity for deterritorialization by means of revelation, showing the mask as a mask, the collage as collage. The intent of this strategy comes from parody, as the power of the system fails to hold up when faced with its own absurdity.
