Hello NFT world! This is my genesis piece as I enter this beautiful decentralised creator economy with my series 'The Great Awakening'. Gratitude. It's the first thing I've learned to practice every morning when I wake up. So, the first thing I'd like to share with the metaverse, is a visual tribute to how grateful I am to be here. And how grateful I am for this beautiful community of artists and creatives around me. The folded hands on the artwork are a depiction of a traditional Indian greeting; of how we pray; of how we show gratitude. So hello! Namaste! Sat-Sri-Akal! Greetings! I am grateful to be here!
And I am grateful to my friend and lil brother Chaitanya Bhalla for creating the musical score for this piece. Here's to his debut on the blockchain too!
This is an MP4 video animation of a double exposure photograph which was edited on photoshop and then digitally touched up on procreate.
Something changed at the beginning of the year 2020, as we entered what astrologers call the "Age of Aquarius". Heralding in a new phase of humanity... One in which the prevailing fear & greed driven, "I", "me', "my" mindset started giving way to a more abundant one, focused on community, harmony & healing. The global pandemic was a mere catalyst for this. An opportunity for us as individuals to take the time to slow down, introspect, heal & seek purpose. To find that the answers we once seeked externally, were within us all along. The old regime kept centralised control, by using fear as their weapon. But change is underway. Communities are coming together like never before.. the Black Lives Movement; the Indian farmer protest (history's single largest human rights protest); the LGBTQ & women's rights movement in Turkey & worldwide; in the global mass resignations the NY Times called the "YOLO economy". & most of all in this beautiful decentralised creator economy we're part of.
