Back Story part 2 Nadia is the daughter of a French mother and Haitian Father. She is the great, great grand daughter of Edwina Robertson the 1st Zulu Mardi Gras Krewe queen. Nadia childhood nickname was Vet, which is green in Haitian Creole and inspired by her eyes. Vet was locally famous for her bold, creative and fearless dance routines. Secretly she was very scared to reveal her true dancing passion.
Back Story Part 3 At the age of 15 Nadia revealed her true dancing passion, ballet. She faced extreme opposition from her community, family and especially the Zulu Krewe who viewed her as a future leader. Nadia still pursued her passion. She moved in with a relative in New York city. Considered a ballet prodigy she quickly landed a spot on Broadway. At age 16 she won the Shorty award for best dance. After an entire year of no communication with anyone from New Orleans, she received a sorry letter in the mail signed by the entire neighborhood and an offer to do the 1st ever ballet solo performance at the next Mardi Gras!
