The 6th item of the Couple series.
It is customary in Iran that when a boy proposes to a girl, the boy buys flowers and goes to the girl's house with his family and everyone wears their best clothes.
In this piece, I have shown that the Qajar Royal Couple are wearing their best clothes and the prince is proposing to his ladylove in a non-Iranian way.
Lithography is a method of printing originally based on the immiscibility of oil and water. The printing is from a stone or a metal plate with a smooth surface. It was invented in 1796 by the German author and actor Alois Senefelder, Iranian lithography was imported to Iran in 1845 by Abbas Mirza. Nowadays this art has become a forgotten style.
Iranian lithography is a folk art that I have combined pop art with.
