This idyllic scene may be one of the most magical images of the Philippine Islands. It was taken by the world renowned photographer, Per-Andre Hoffmann in the 1993.

It was 1993, on a long sandbank in the West Philippine Sea, a bright red starfish was washed upon the golden beach by the surf. While an outrigger sailed home across a glistening sea after a long day of fishing and a beautiful Filipina enjoys bathing in the gentle surf. (The starfish was washed back into the sea). This unique image has been displayed in various exhibitions and has been published worldwide.
