2 Faced 1:

I stand before my friends. Listening to their giggles, pointing, and jabbing at this young boy's insecurities, while his large glasses slipped off his face. I half-heartedly laughed, trying to blend in. I know I shouldn't have laughed alongside them, knowing full well that it did not make me feel better. Instead, it pierced a hole in my mind, leaving a big hole.

The darkness swept through, showing the world the fake facade I had created.

I could see my body float out, detaching itself as I watched myself continue to laugh. Even start to follow the lead in pointing fingers, putting the boy down as he seemed to shrink. Our words were like razor blades, cutting in deeply.

The life in his body became smaller.

I couldn't help but lower my laughter, looking over in concern. But the others continued to jab and laugh.

Eventually, I stopped as the other's laughter resounded in the hallway.

Why did I just follow along?

I don't like this at all. It made me feel ugly as my heart twisted into a knot.

Someone stop me before it's too late.

I don't know if I am strong enough to say ‘No,’ because I am afraid to be alone.
