ARTIST : Meriç Aktar I am an award-winner photographer based in Antioch,Turkey. After graduating from Anadolu University Photography associate degree in 2014 in Turkey, I started to reflect photographs of people and nature around Anatolia into my frame. Photography is a passion event for me. First of all, I take pictures for myself. In other words, the photographs that I will keep my memories alive, document, share with my loved ones and leave as a legacy to my children are at the forefront for me. I think photography is life, and I love photographs with human-nature elements, and those from life itself. In some moments when I did not take a photo, I am worried that those moments will not happen again, I believe that the desire to take photos is the desire to notice the differences and freeze those moments. When you tell a story with your photograph and convey the emotion with aesthetic concern, it is inevitable that your photograph will leave a deep impression on the viewer. When taking photos, I always include the human element in my photos, except for nature photos. I always think that a photo without a human in it is an incomplete photo. Before taking a photo, I adjust my framing according to the composition rules in the right light conditions and try to take a photo that way.
Being at the crossroads between East and West, Turkey has always been on the route of civilizations, becoming the stopping-place of countless cultures. There’s no doubt that it is this past that paved the way for Turkey to become one of the richest countries in diversity of rural life.
Thus,Anatolia, which constitutes all of Turkey's lands in the Asian continent, has hosted many civilizations for thousands of years and has a colorful rural life formed by the accumulation of these civilizations.
By bringing together my exclusive ten years photographic shots on daily lives of traditional women in Anatolia , the first collection of the Traditional Anatolia photography series is now created by my 6 best photographs on women that I took in Anatolia during my ten-years photographic life.
This collection consists of 6 exclusive photos of 1/1 edition ,the price of each photo is 0.15 ETH.
