JAPE story
Pikounda had been transported from Ouesso in a very small bag and was about 2 years old when he arrived at Projet Protection des Gorilles. He was very ill and did not like to be approached. It took a lot of love and care from his surrogate mother before he began to trust other gorilla’s. When I met him he had been reintroduced into Djeke’s group and watched me suspiciously as I moved around taking the groups portraits.
