In every major disruptive technological phase, there are the ones who did it first. And oftentimes, these early genius types get left out of the history books.

This happens to women, black people, quiet & intelligent and/or non-conformist people far too often. It’s happening again, no surprise there. Once huge money entered into the NFT scene these people were not only forgotten, they were never even discovered.

Pictured from left to right:

Nili Lerner. Created one of the first NFT art coins in 2014: https://twitter.com/NILIcoins

Connie Digital. Originator of artist social tokens. Web3 music and artist NFT pioneer: https://twitter.com/conniedigital

Beatriz Ramos. Founder of DADA. She was instrumental in educating people like me and Artnome about crypto art in the early days: https://twitter.com/PowerDada

Heart. Most of the early crypto art projects were driven by a strong desire to change the world for the better, which mostly focused around improving the lives of creators. It had nothing to do with lambo in those days.

Slothicorn. This was my crypto artist collective I founded in 2017 to educate artists about crypto. Slothicorn aimed to merge the worlds of art, money, technology and cryptocurrency. I’m still using the same Discord Channel that began in 2017 but I’ve renamed it Stellabelle. Read the first article about Slothicorn: https://beta.peakd.com/@slothicorn/slothicorn-philosophy-preview-to-the-off-white-paper And later on Hackernoon: https://hackernoon.com/could-slothicorn-become-the-ultimate-funding-solution-for-creative-commons-crypto-artists-6ff7dbd6d44e Stellabelle: https://twitter.com/stellabelle

Trashart. The 64 gallon toter that Robness minted on Super Rare, which resulted in him getting banned from the platform, was a historic moment in crypto art: https://opensea.io/assets/0xb932a70a57673d89f4acffbe830e8ed7f75fb9e0/7323

The toter gave birth to a movement which is defined by a rebellious spirit and one that is open to all. It’s still going, but maybe a lot of people don’t know about it. Robness: https://twitter.com/robnessofficial

You might be wondering who is on the cross? It represents all the people throughout history who were forgotten and ignored because they were not powerful at the time. Women and blacks make up the vast majority of the ignored geniuses.
