After attaining enlightenment, Avalokiteshvara made the great vow that if I could benefit and rejoice all sentient beings, I would be born with a thousand hands and a thousand eyes to save all sentient beings of infinite duration, and that all sentient beings who hold my name with one heart would be relieved of the grave sins of birth and death for ten thousand billion kalpas. All those who can correspond with me in meditation will accelerate their attainment of the path. After the Bodhisattva has made the vow, heaven and earth are moved, the ten directions are shaken, and the Buddhas of the ten directions emit an infinite amount of Buddha's light, which is applied to Avalokiteshvara.

Since then, Avalokiteshvara has been manifesting Avalokiteshvara, or Avalokiteshvara with a thousand hands and a thousand eyes, for the convenience of all sentient beings, at all times and in all places in the Saha world, to save all suffering sentient beings from suffering and to achieve happiness.
