What is the difference between a dream and a memory? When do the two crossover and enter that place of limbo? I’ve often found that memories get trapped in little boxes, while dreams grow fuzzy and start to look like nothing more than phantoms encased in strips of gelatin emulsion. Sleepwalk is an attempt to navigate that suspension between waking hours and the eeriness of memory that so well accompanies the low light of night. It’s a collection of moments, captured in Los Angeles, documenting a personal perspective of gloom and isolation. Twenty-four images cooperating to generate a sensation that at once defines us and in the same moment remains as unreliable as the synaptic aim of the memories we call this “distant nostalgia.”   All photos are shot on a mixture of 35mm and medium format film.
