I made this collage on March 21, 2022 to celebrate the coming of Spring. I picked flowers, cut a bit of blue sky, gathered cherry blossoms and painted a maiko, so they all fit together under sakura.
i am a painter and collagemaker. I collect, draw, cut and paint, scan and cut and paint again on computer. There is pleasure in the immediacy and messiness of the manual work on paper and also great visual joy after the long "CUTxPAINT" digital assemblage on a screen. It's fun to do and fun to watch with all the details crawling in.
