Dazzling emerald light that has occurred into the enchanting sky of Iceland, these northern lights were surely the strongest I’ve ever seen during my many travels and takes you to a not so famous place, lost inside of the lands, that I found randomly while heading back to my guesthouse.

Arriving a long time before the first auroras, I used my time to make several shots at sunset and blue hour, being shaken by an extremely strong and cold wind coming from the North. The wind was so strong that even my tripod missed falling on the ground many times, forcing me to maintain it with my hands. Then I was standing here, freezing alone in the middle of nowhere.

Slowly, night came and began to cover the lands of darkness, offering me some rest as the wind stopped to rage, allowing me to relax and sit a little bit, but not for long..

Night wasn’t totally installed yet that some northern lights started to shine and dance in the deep sky above my head till the horizon. It was an impressive greenish band that was getting stronger and splitting the sky from east to west just in front of my eyes. Northern lights are unpredictable, and I spent the night here, in the cold, watching the light going stronger and weaker for hours.

Midnight came, and a few minutes before the end of the show, the explosion happened.. Like a green bomb of pure energy dropped in the sky, everything around turned green and I was able to see like during the day for a few minutes, before to get back to dark of the night, for good.

This is how a convenient purchase turned into a true passion, pushing him to dedicate all his savings from his hard work as a bartender to travel to some of the most incredible places of the world and capture their beauty. Regarding the difficulty to find some free time out of his work to practice his passion he decided in 2021 to stop his bartender career to focus 100% on photography and make it a full-time job.
