Carroll, also known as Chip, graduated from Maury High School in 1961, and George Washington University in 1965, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She lived in Washington, DC working at various publications. She also traveled extensively across Europe. Chip Walker was an editor, an activist, and a dedicated photographer. She passed away December 2020 before receiving the recognition she deserved.
