Ayesha is adventurous. She’s loved being outside for as long as she can remember. As she got older she started participating in group hikes, skiing trips, horseback riding (etc) and noticed that there were not many people that looked like her. This made her very sad at first, but she turned that into inspiration to create a blog for BIWOC (Black, Indigenous, Women of Colour), and how they can reclaim the great outdoors. She empowers BIWOC globally to get outside and take up space.
The Visionary Ladies is a collection of 8 1/1 hand-drawn women of colour by Saphera Peters.
Although they may seem like normal women, each one is following her passion to make extraordinary change in the world. Inspired by the women in Saphera's life, this collection is meant to represent the amazing women around us who are resilient, inspiring, and passionate.
About the artist:
Saphera Peters is a South Asian artist who was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. In the earlier years of her life, she was determined to be a portrait photographer. However, she discovered the world of illustration during her time in university and it opened up a whole new door of creativity for her. Since then, she has translated her love for people and faces into illustrating women of colour as a way for her to bring more representation into mainstream media.
