Robert Silvers, the original inventor of Photomosaics,® worked with a collector of paper money to make this portrait of Bill Gates.

From the Artist: “While I was commissioned to make a gift for Bill Gates, this isn't that. I made this one on my own. The one for Bill was not made of money.

For this one, I spent countless hours over a period of months scanning, by hand, actual rare bills from the paper money collector's extensive world currency collection, and then cropped the images into the thousands of tiles needed to make this art. Once the images were ready, I arranged the tiles to resemble a photograph of Bill Gates that I took myself. As usual with my art, I looked for shapes within the tiles that matched the shapes that I needed to form in the overall image. I did this without shortcuts such as blending. I hope that you enjoy this art in your collection as much as I have enjoyed making it.”
