When I first moved to Riga and started attending Latvian language courses, all textbooks contained Rigans around these hours. Initially, I did not pay much attention to them, but this year everything changed - I began to devote more time to ordinary inconspicuous things ... I passed by them at 19:00 and listened to this music ..
The history of the watch retold by me:
This is a scan of the sketch on paper)) Here you can see the famous Latvian clock Laima, which was donated by the largest chocolate factory to the city! After reconstruction in 2017, the clock plays different melodies every hour (out of a total of 24), written by the famous Latvian pianist Raimonds Pauls. Also, people call this clock a “meeting place”, I found out about this when I went to Latvian language courses, where in textbooks all Latvians met at this clock.
By the way, the name of the Laima factory is almost consonant in the Latvian language with the word "happiness" (Laime)
