One of my favorite things about traveling is meeting new people and sharing experiences with them. While I was at the airport in Salvador, boarding my flight to Rio, I started talking to a Brazilian woman in front of me who was carrying a tripod on her backpack. She was heading to Rio to meet up with friends to explore the city. She invited me along for a day and I gladly accepted. I spent the day with her and two Rio locals. I speak little Portuguese and they didn't speak english. Camila spoke spanish and so did I so we were able to communicate a little that way, but despite not being able to talk, we had an awesome day that ended with a gorgeous sunset at Praia Ipanema. It was one of my favorite travel experiences in a long time and a great reminder that the when you keep an open mind and an open heart to new experiences, people and cultures, you'll find some pretty amazing moments in life.

Part of my mission as a photographer is to capture and collect rare experiences. I've traveled the world, climbed mountains and have spent hours, days and sometimes weeks searching for beautiful scenes. Along that journey, there have been handful of times that go beyond being a simply beautiful photograph, and stand out as extraordinary moments of my story. This is a collection of my favorite memories, the moments when the universe aligned perfectly and I was fortunate enough to be standing in the right place at the right time with my camera in hand to capture it.
