Grey herons are resident birds in the wetlands of Bharatpur and you can find them everywhere. This particular chap looked particularly heavenly in this setting with the thick fog, and the golden early morning light. When a place looks this heavenly, any subject really stands out in the image.

This photograph is from my "Magic Hour" series. Magic hour is the period of time between sunset and daybreak when warm hues of gold, pink, and blue are visible. The collection features photographs taken during the "golden hour" in Keoladeo Ghana National Park in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, a wetland wonder and one of the largest bird sanctuaries. As a result, the collection is also an ode to Bharatpur, a place I've visited every year for the past ten years.
