Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorite places to visit especially in the winter. I have visited the park in all four seasons but there is just something magical about the winters there. Every year for the past 3 years we have spent a few days in the park snowshoeing.

On a cold evening we adventured into the park snow was starting to fall a winter storm was moving in. We drop up Old Fall River Road a where place Elk are commonly seen. The park was quite it was bitterly cold and snowy. I looked over and saw a lone elk grazing on some grass. He had a light coat of snow on him. It was a beautiful experience to sit and watch this beautiful elk.
