Why I decided to bring this document as NFT? The Orangutan, also known as the "men of the forest", is facing a dire situation due to mass deforestation and forest fires caused by illegal monoculture farming practices. These charismatic and intelligent primates are now on the brink of extinction. As a result, it is imperative that we take action now to protect and conserve these voiceless animals. NFTs can play a crucial role in raising awareness and supporting conservation efforts. By bringing attention to the issue and allowing individuals to own a piece of the conversation, we can encourage more people to take action and make a difference.

The Orangutan's long inter-birth interval is another important factor to consider. Female Orangutans give birth to a baby after eight and a half months of pregnancy, and another child is not born until the first child reaches seven years of age. This allows the mother to give full attention to her children as she learns the skills necessary to survive on her own, including making nests, identifying a variety of food, and avoiding predators. Once these skills have been learned, it is up to the mother to conserve and create a mental map of the forest, especially to understand where all the important food resources are, until the time it changes.

Currently, a large number of abandoned infant Orangutans are being cared for at rehabilitation centres due to the destruction caused by forest fires and the death of their mothers. No infant Orangutan can make it in the wild without its mother. The mother is the only resource they have for learning wilderness survival skills. Caretakers at the rehabilitation centres will instruct the infants in survival techniques like tree climbing and searching for food.

It is time for us to take collective action to protect our nature and its assets, starting with the endangered Orangutan population. Let's use NFTs to raise awareness and support conservation efforts for these intelligent and charismatic primates
