I drew this comic as a satire to point out the remarkable advances in rare digital art over the past few years. Those active in the crypto space might even recognize a few crypto-art opinion leaders here. For this particular cartoon, I also decided to make rare digital art specifically about rare digital art as a fun (and slightly) educational piece.

In the beginning there was just physical art. This, of course, is creative work that exists as a tangible unique object or experience in some form. Then with the dawn of computers and the Internet, came digital art. This led to droves of physical artwork--both old and new--becoming electronically scanned, digitized, and almost instantly available for viewing (and copying) around the globe.

Those things alone are radical advances in arts development. Yet it does not stop there. With new innovations in blockchain technology came something called rare digital art. The art world will never be the same.

What is rare digital art? It is non-physical creative work existing in electronic format that is made in a limited supply and running on top of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. At all hours of the day, a person anywhere in the world can buy rare digital art with cryptocurrency and have proof of ownership as well as proof of the art's digital scarcity. How the times have changed right underneath our artsy noses. One could almost smell it... almost. Woah!
