"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see."  Edgar Degas

When I paint, my brushes, paints, they're all a part of a dance. After a 20 minute breathing therapy, I turn on the tunes I need for the day to start creating. To focus on what I want to express, I just need to let go of the daily hustle first. It never goes well for me when I know I have many things going on in my head. To make sure my random splatters and brush strokes land on the canvas in a way I am satisfied with, I need to let it go.

Sometimes we think how colorless our lives are, especially when it's too monotone for our liking and the flavours of life are out of reach. Life gets monochrome. Or maybe we think what we need is a new tone of color, to make a new exploration and leave the comfort zone. What we all want is a life with the colors of the rainbow. That has always been the symbol of joy and happiness. Like a reminder that behind the tears -of ours or the sky-, there's a hidden gift...

To be successful is a very personal notion. I am a Business Management graduate. For a really long while, I was a manager in a restaurant. Had long work hours, no time for myself at all and when I could, I should have been arranging it two weeks ahead. Had no time for art at all. But we have milestones. Mine was the need to be with my mother during her healing process and moving to my small hometown. I gave up my whole career to stand by the things I really care about, which led me to find the time I need to create. That, I call success.

What is the language of colors?

Everything is an energy in the universe. As everything, colors have frequencies as well. With that point of view and in the light of many studies on the subject, we know colors affect our emotions directly and create different physical effects on us. We also have a similar perception of a color we see as we have similar codes related to our culture and the society we grew up with. For most of us, for instance, blue calls for the sea and the sky, therefore creating a perception of freedom and trust.

How are colors and emotions related?

Directly. Colors also have a direct connection with our perception and body. Red actually raises our blood pressure. That is proven with scientific studies. There are methods to raise the body temperature of patients with colds, using color therapy. As colors affect our body, they also affect our emotions and mood.

So what colors make us feel?

Let's see some of them and their effects on us in some examples.

Red: Courage, challenge, fueling the anger, aggression
Blue: Freedom, trust, serenity
Green: Peace, balance
Pink: Joy, creativity, imagination
Yellow: Reason, logic
White: Contentment
Orange: Childlike joy, pleasure, getting into action
Purple: Relaxation
Black: Distance, luxury

So the colors, they change our lives each and every minute. And being so aware that I am constantly under the effect, I tried to learn more and share some about them with you.

Dad told me once: "Making art means starving."

And here I am, at this very moment. Doesn't matter what you do. Your labor and time makes the flower bloom, whether you make a lot of money or not. We all have desires, mine was to be a ballet dancer and a photographer. Maybe what he said was true, I cannot really know. What I know is that the right time, the right conditions and your strength to beat the challenges get you where you want to end up.

This is my 3rd year in NFT space. Before I dropped out I was a Media and Communication student, and took a job related to it. I was very young when I first got the first big corporate customer in the small firm I was working in. Guess what happened. My boss wasn't satisfied with the commercial sale I made. Seeing how things are not as they seem in this field, I quit my job. A close friend. asked me what I was planning next. I said I just want to find a way to find myself. He offered to organise gigs together for one of the best night clubs in Turkey. Dropping out of my first college didn't look so good on my parents' end, so to show that I can be successful, I took the offer. People mocked us, they told us that our numbers were too ambitious and we could never reach that. Take another guess of what happened. We made three times the amount we expected. Because that happens when you work hard, whatever you do.

As I was planning my next step in life, I enrolled again. Being in the management field seemed like a good way of making a living. After college I ended up in a big restaurant chain and went up to restaurant management. I was successful, yes, but it wasn't quite right.

Then after four years, my mother's health condition got worse and she was alone. I dropped whatever I built and left.

And that's how the story begins.

I read about Grimes' album being sold on Nifty Gateway one day. I was intrigued, what was this NFTs about? Searches, readings, inviting friends into the space so we can learn together. Seeing this as a great opportunity to make art, I decided to stay.

I am ending my 3rd year now. I have met amazing people. I have seen the good and the bad. I have seen kindness and rotten egos. And as I turn 30, I decided what kind of people I want to walk with.

Do not ever lose the good in you. Work hard and fail, that is quite alright. Every action will come back to you, good or bad.

I am determined and aware of what's next for me. I am thankful to everyone standing by me on my journey. My friends and collectors who taught me a lot, you are so valuable to me. I promise I will keep learning and growing and supporting all the good and the art.

Finally, I want to thank my mother. She has been an unconditional support to me, thanks to her I am fulfilling my dreams. As a woman who could not pursue art because she had to raise me, she knows how hard the burden to give up one's dreams is and supports me every single minute of my day. Now I work hard to make both of our dreams come true.
