The product of years of gaining knowledge and skills, and culmination of perfecting them, has resulted in this series, Republica De Las Parabolas – a commemoration of the crypto markets, its aspirations, hopes and dreams. This is the LAST of SIX unique designs, featuring a portrait of Terence McKenna. McKenna represents the transcendental potential of cryptocurrency - not a system of changing the present monetary system, but a means to competely transcend debt-based money. McKenna is a suprsing choice, as the only figure featured in the series whose lifetime didn't coincide with the evolution of cryptocurrency. Nevertheless, Terence McKenna wrote and spoke extensively about Human evolution into the 21st century. His major achievement was his TimeWave Zero - a graph that depicted the entirety of Human history as oscillating between forces of 'chaos' and 'novelty'. Peaks and troughs in the graph picked out key moments, such as assinations, Hiroshima, the fall of empires etc. The graph goes to zero and ends on December 21st 2012, aligning with ancient cultures, such as the Mayan calendar. These cultures declared that this date marked a rebirthing of the world - a new world. The implication is that Bitcoin is the monetary bridge onto a new world, and a way of transcending a precarious and usurous debt-based money system, that has been responsible for the chaos of the 'old world'. The design features authentic and original banknote design – the centrepiece is the engraved portrait, made of hundreds of lines and dashes, each placed by hand. The design is filled with minute details and patterns, all reinforcing the central concept. As with all my works, the design is signed, and individually serial numbered – this is one of just FIVE individually serial numbered works.
