Peace peace! OK so boom, SHINE is about us being and exalting our inner light, creativity, and purpose in all we do. That's where the healing at and that's where I wanna be. I am thankful for MoRuf and Jamee Cornelia who agreed to meet up from our respective cities NJ x ATL x NOLA to SXSW 2022 to make this music visual for SHINE only a few weeks after recording the song. I remember sitting at the bayou and co creating a treatment with Jamee Cornelia over a zoom call. Moo was able to find a flight but it meant that instead of getting in town a day earlier we all had to meet the same day of Zoratopia. We literally set intentions together right outside of the venue before Jamee was shooting Carla the Poet's performance and MoRuf's set to bring this all together and close it out on a rooftop with a sunset view. The remaining footage was filmed on location in New Orleans where Jacques captured Hood Healer Mimi in front of the SHINE mural, listen for the song bowls, thank you Mimi. We did it! We can do anything we shine our light upon ya'll.
