Manang Barang's Carinderia (Auntie Barang's Eatery)

It was during the time of the Great Divide between the realms of humans and malignos, that a young Barbara opened her kubo to offer her elixirs and grub to passersby.  Under the shade of a mango tree, the small hut was open to anyone in need without discrimination.  Men and tikbalangs sat together as they enjoyed Barbara’s home cooked meals.  Encantos and women traded stories on the efficacy of her revitalizing potions.  Soon, word of Barbara’s kubo spread through the neighboring barangays, and visitors would come from faraway places.  Throughout three generations, the small carinderia grew and spawned its branches.  To this day, its roots, the first Manang Barang’s Carinderia stands in the heart of a modernized Poblacion, frequented by creatures from all walks and flies of life.
