"Slaying the Ancient Guardians of Evermore"
The first piece in a set of ten (1/10) of the Fantasy Art thematic. This art is inspired by my life-long obsession with Magic the Gathering card art and fantasy art in general. The apparition of Falcor lingers in the top center, and the ancient golden blade of Nevlamir cuts into the Ancient Braon with little effect. A war wages amongst the galactic guardians; who will win? Perhaps there will be hints in the next piece.
This is The GANS Machine's Generation 3 artwork.
The GANS Machine is a neural network I programmed from scratch and trained for over six months studying art from the 14th century onward. It learns to create better each and every day. The art produced is generated from the title phrase (the name of the artwork). The brilliance comes in the way it conceptualizes its attempt to approximate the phrase into art. It's a rare and beautiful phenomena to watch it work.
