In this series of work, I explore the interplay of color, light and movement using simple forms. The works invite meditative contemplation and bring attention to the beauty of a rite as simple and elemental as the passage of time. A throwback to the era of color field painting, a number of subtle influences can be discerned by the viewer. Although no paint was used in any of these digital creations, I have been personally inspired by the work of pioneers like Barnett Newman, Howard Hodgkin, Mark Rothko, Josef Albers, Yves Klein and Frank Stella; and more recently, artists like Il Lee, Natvar Bhavsar and Sohan Qadri, the latter two of whom I have personally had the pleasure of meeting in New York City.
