This is an homage to the famous Czech shoemaker Tomas Bata created from 467 shoes from the Bata Factory. The installation also includes examples of objects found in his home, including a hundred-year-old kitchen cupboard and suitcases which Bata used for travel. After returning home from his business trips, he poured all the shoes from his suitcases into the corner where his portrait then spontaneously materialized. When viewed from the correct angle, the sculpture represents an impressionist painting where each shoe is like a brushstroke. The artwork is combined from 2 dimensional and 3-dimensional perceptions.
The installation is made of physical objects, size 3.5×2.5×2m, 2015, and on permanent exhibit at Illusion Art Museum Prague. This is a 3D animation of a photogrammetric scan made from 536 photos of the real installation.
