“Microcosm of Ice” is part of my series “World of Ice”
At the Hale nature preserve east of Olin, there are small ponds that have fascinating stories to tell. Wondering along those ponds in winter inspired a series of images called “At the Edge of a Pond” that transports the viewer to surprising worlds made by ice.
This is one of my favorite ice photos because it portrays the Earth and the Universe all in one little space. Life changes in ice, as it becomes encapsulated, but still feels alive somehow.
Captured with a digital camera and processed in Photoshop. No other digital manipulation was done. This has been printed on metallic paper, and it looks great!
4800 x 7200 JPG – Other formats available to the first owner such as TIFF or PNG
