"To Hell or to Heaven, our fates lie on the other side. Everywhere we go, everything we do, the light follows. Our time on this earth is limited. Death waits for us to slip, waiting, watching. This life is the only one we've got, do everything you can to make it feel like a dream, before the light catches us."

The old train tunnels above Donner Lake created some of the most unique and challenging compositions for me to capture. This little girls family walked out of the tunnel, creating a seemingly dream like scene. This scene has beauty but feels like a sense of fear lurks behind the dream. Hence why I wrote the paragraph above like I did. I love finding meaning in my images, whether it be subtle or obvious themes. The light beaming in from the back instantly reminded me of what people apparently see right as they die. But this girl doesn't appear to be heading into the light, rather the light lurks behind her.
