By early 2020, I thought I was finished with my Visitors series. The fear and uncertainty of the pandemic inspired me look at it from a new angle. Previously I had tried to keep the Visitors’ intentions vague. Do they represent hope or destruction? These later pieces took a more ominous turn and evolved into a symbol of fear of a novel threat. It’s still possible that the Visitors come in peace or that they represent an opportunity for humanity, but it would be prudent to take shelter until we know for certain.
