This generative art work is heavily influenced by Karl Sims' "Genetic Images" (1993).

A compounded mathematical function translates the three dimensional information of position and time at each pixel to a point in the three dimensional red-green-blue colourspace.

The function is found through a process of artificial evolution where the value of another function of the resulting image is maximised.

A one minute loop of 1080 by 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second.
