This piece is a reminder to always fight against poisons and never succumb to the fear they instill in us.

I envision my thoughts as a poison. The droplets are my insecurities and fears trying to convince me I am not enough. Its illuminating beauty traps it’s victims, but it is a paralyzing fear. One hand is reaching for this poison but the other hand is consciously pulling away, despite its beauty. Will I pull away and take a leap of faith? Or will I let fear take control? I must remind myself I have the power to grow and not succumb to my own fears.

The pattern at the bottom of this piece was created by me about two years ago when I heard my sisters friend committed suicide. His passing changed the direction of my art and I wish I could tell him how much he impacted me. I never knew him, but I carry him in my heart wherever I go.

For he does not live in this world, I promise he will forever exist in my art.
