“She lies in my subconscious mind. Occasionally, she visits and whispers to remind me that she is there. Waiting for that moment, when doubt slowly creeps in… and overthinking starts. When unwanted thoughts would pop into my head and I would end up in inertia. Stuck in analysis paralysis. Unproductivity. There are days when she gives me butterflies in my stomach. Loud sounds… Making my heart skip a beat. Burrowing doubts in my mind. Sometimes she wins. Other times she accepts defeat. And hibernates… Waiting patiently for the right moment to attack again.”

I created this composite last year when Denmark was in quarantine. Anxiety would often visit me and editing images was the only thing that helped pacify my feelings. I wrote the poem explaining how she makes me feel and my inner battles when she visits.
