Inspired by something my oldest brother drew, this artwork represents pivotal moments in my life, with the most prevalent being my time in the mental hospital. In 2020, before the pandemic even started, my depression caused me to "quarantine. I was so utterly so disappointed in myself that I felt too ashamed to go outside. My depression got so bad that a day wouldn't go by without be begging for death. Because of my suicidal thoughts, my psychiatric and I decided it was time for me to be checked into a mental health center... To make a long story short, this hospital ignored my requests for my usual medication and kept prescribing me new things. Somehow their psychiatrist deemed me as being schizophrenic and homicidal.. and I'm neither of those things. Anyway, this artwork reflects my experience. What I hope you take away from this piece is accepting your negative emotions instead of dismissing them. Once you learn to make peace with your darker parts, life gets a little bit easier.
