At 5 years old, I said "I want to be an artist."
By 15, I believed "artist" wasn't a sustainable career, and I'd be better off with a steady income and some benefits. So, I let it go, and resented myself for having been so naive. I committed to the program, and vowed that I'd be good.
But what is good when good is subjective in the end?
I should've listened to the child in me that knew no bounds — that believed with all abandon.
