The first in the series titled "Ode To Fungi" is Ink Cap Mushroom (Coprinopsis atramentaria) It can be found in various terrain from urban areas to grasslands and meadows. The fruiting bodies (Mushrooms) of Ink Caps are quite strong as they've been known to push through asphalt and tennis courts. When the mushrooms mature they turn into black goo, the process known as deliquescence.
